Adaptive Technical Services (ATS) is a small multi-disciplinary team in Development & Rehab consisting of: an Electronics Technologist, a Rehab Assistant, and an Occupational Therapist.
The ATS team promotes and facilitates the use of adaptive technology and toys. Our goal is to enhance learning and play for children and youth with special needs.

fine and gross motor toys/equipment
games, puzzles,
light tech communication aids,
adaptive computer peripherals,
switches and switch-adapted toys
You can also browse the online catalogue to see what is available.
Clients are able to borrow up to three items at a time for a period of one month.

Toy & Tech Adaptation
What is a toy/tech adaption?It is a way of customizing a toy/equipment to better suit the needs of a particular client.
e.g. Cause and effect toys can be adapted so that they can be operated with an external button (switch).
Our electronic technologist is able to switch adapt toys and other computer peripherals.

Is there a cost for this service?
No. If clients and families wish to contribute, they can make a donation through the CHEO foundation.
